Playing Craps
The most important thing to
remember is to make sure that you know and
understand the rules before you place any real money
on the table. Once you know the rules, and
understand the game, there are a few tips that you
should be aware of, and the most common ones have
been assembled here for you to find easily. As with
all strategies, none of these tips guarantee that
you will win 100% of the time, if that were true, it
wouldnt be gambling, however, they will help
improve your chances of winning.
The first tip is what is called a 5-Count. This
strategy helps you improve the quality of the
shooters that you bet on and will help you choose
the best shooters and weed through those that arent
so good. Here is a general breakdown of how to use
this strategy. When a new shooter is throwing the
Come Out roll, if/when they shoot a point (4, 5,
6, 8, 9, or 10) , that is whats called Count 1.
Counts 2, 3 and 4 will follow Count 1, no matter
what the shooter rolls. The shooter can not reach
Count 5 until or unless they throw a point again. If
you reach Count 5 with a shooter, then they are hot
and you can begin betting; if you do not, they are
not considered hot and you should wait and check out
the next shooter.
Another tip that we would like to offer is whats
called Anything But Seven. Just as the name
suggests, the objective here is to win on anything
but a seven. Once the point has been established,
you should place two coins on 5, 6 and 8 and place
one coin on the Field. This strategy is a little
bit more of a gamble because of the higher bet, so
it is suggested that you clear your bets after three
rolls.
Next in line is whats called Hedge Betting. This
involves making a wager that almost completely
cancels out another wager. This will result in a
small profit from almost any of the possible rolls.
With this strategy, you will be able to play longer
because of your smaller risk, and as an added
benefit, you will greatly increase your comps (when
they are offered by the casino you are playing at).
Pretty much any bet can be made into a hedge bet.
For example, a pass line bet can be hedged from
craps (2, 3, 12) by betting the proposition bet any
craps.
Finally, there is whats called Progressive Betting.
This is one of the most simple Craps strategies to
learn. The first thing you do is simply place your
initial bet. Each time you throw the dice and win,
you increase your bet by the initial coin size. When
you lose a roll, you will simply decrease your
current bet by your initial bet. This way, as long
as you are winning, you will continually win more,
and if you start losing, you wont lose as much.
