Dear Gambling Rose,
I'm new to the online poker world. I have a little
experience playing Texas Hold'em in real life (mostly
with friends and family), but I would like to know,
before I jump into this, what are the basic rules or
etiquette that I should know about online poker rooms?
Dear
[email protected],
Simply put, use much of the same etiquette as you
would with your friends and family.
- Never play out of turn.
- Don't be obnoxious or rude to other players. No
verbal heckling. On this note, I must say that there
are a lot of players that use this as a tactic to
try to psych out or distract their opponents in
order to gain an advantage in the game. It is poker,
so you have to expect 'tactics' to be used, but
there are many tactics and strategies that you can
use to get the same effect, without being a poor
sport.
- Always remember the table limits and bet within
them.
- Know the rules of the game before you sit down
to play.
Thanks for your question, Gambling Rose.....
