What is a good strategy for Blackjack and do you think online blackjack is good for newbie's?

Dear ScouterRick,

There are some good basic strategies that you can employ. First off, be strong in your knowledge of the game and know the house rules. Each house ( or casino ) may implement their own set of rules. In addition, Online Blackjack may vary slightly from a land based casino and you'll also find that Online Casinos offer more varieties of Blackjack than their counterparts. Learning the odds of how often a particular value card comes up is important. Card counting is one way of determining this but it's not for everyone, and most casinos frown on this practice although it is not cheating. You are not deriving an unfair advantage by using any means other than your brain.
